International Kangaroo Mother Care Awareness Day 15 May 2022

The International Kangaroo Care Awareness Day (May 15th) is a GLOBAL event celebrated since 2011 by communities that appreciate Kangaroo Care parents, organizations, and professionals. This group of consist of parents, friends, organizations, volunteers, and perinatal professionals from around the world who organize creative solutions to accelerate the implementation and safety of evidence-based kangaroo care. Local communities are supported and empowered to celebrate, share, and engage others to raise awareness, safety, education, and the practice of Kangaroo Care / skin-to-skin contact for newborns, especially those in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) and other hospital units then at home.

World Breastfeeding Week 2022 August 1– 7, 2022

World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA) is a global network of individuals and organisations dedicated to the protection, promotion and support of breastfeeding worldwide. Annually, WABA coordinates and organises the World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) between Aug 1-7. Since 2016, WABA has aligned the WBW campaign to United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This is called the WBW-SDGs Campaign.

World Prematurity Day 2022 November 17 2022

This event is aimed at helping raise awareness of preterm birth and the concerns of preterm babies and their families worldwide. Approximately 15 million babies are born preterm each year, accounting for about one in 10 of all babies born worldwide. The survival of these preterm babies and the integrity of family bond could be enhanced by instilling and practicing early and sustained kangaroo mother care.
